Hey there friends,

Myke Atkinson here, and I’m incredibly honoured to say: I am officially your Councillor-Elect for Ward 7.

This campaign was people-powered from day one, and it only happened because of you. To everyone who; cast a ballot, knocked on doors, silk-screened, delivered, or carried a sign, dropped off literature, donated money, artwork, or time, or simply shared the message with a neighbour or a friend — thank you. I truly could not have done this without you.

I also want to acknowledge the other candidates, Greg, Anthony, David, Heather, and Terry. Putting your name on a ballot and offering your vision for Ward 7 is no small thing, and our democracy is stronger for it.

And thank you to all of the people who kept this election running — volunteers across campaigns, election staff, and polling station workers. Local democracy thrives because of your dedication.

For the last week, my campaign team and I have been working to wrap up campaign matters. At the same time, I’ve started orientation at City Hall, and on Wednesday I’ll be sworn in as the official elected representative for Ward 7. Then it’ll be time to get to work quickly.

Together, we have the chance to shape Ward 7 into a community that’s more connected, more caring, and more people-first than ever before. I’ll need your continued help to make that vision real, and I look forward to working alongside you in the months and years ahead.
