tuxedo park
We’ve been knocking on doors and collecting survey feedback for over six months in Tuxedo Park and across Ward 7, and we learned a lot about residents’ priorities.
What we heard
Residents say the central location is one of Tuxedo Park’s greatest strengths, making it easy to connect to the rest of the city.
“The location is perfect for getting around the city.”

At the same time, traffic and safety are ongoing concerns. Speeding along Centre Street and Edmonton Trail was raised repeatedly, with residents calling for safer crossings and better lighting on key routes.

Families voiced support for more green space and park improvements. While the new playground at the community hall is appreciated, many said closer and more accessible play areas would make daily life easier.
“The new park at the community hall is great, but we would love closer green space for our kids to play.”
— Tuxedo Park Resident
“Housing options that keep Tuxedo Park affordable are important. This is largely still a working class neighbourhood and we need to protect that.”

Other issues included concerns about noise and congestion, calls for better snow removal and sidewalk upkeep, and interest in more tree planting and landscaping to soften the area’s busy corridors.
People also spoke about the value of more local shops, amenities, and community events that help bring neighbours together.
Housing affordability was another recurring theme. Residents emphasized the importance of keeping Tuxedo Park accessible to working families and new arrivals while managing growth responsibly.
