Erin Waite's Endorsement

Hey there friends,

I’m so incredibly fortunate and appreciative to receive Erin Waite’s endorsement (letter below) for my election run this year! For years Erin has been an active advocate to build a better future for Calgary, including her run for Ward 7 councillor in 2021. She got second place in that last election due to vote splitting between progressive candidates, and there have been many moments where I dream about what it’s like in that alternate universe where we had Erin’s leadership driving Ward 7 forward over the past four years.

Erin’s letter made me absolutely blush when I first read it, and I’m so lucky to have her helping me to get across the finish line this October.  Thank you Erin! 🥰

September 2025

Dear Neighbours in Ward 7,

My passion for our communities in Ward 7 hasn’t waned since my candidacy for Councillor in 2021. I still care deeply about our City Council and my focus continues to be on ethics and building a community that works for everyone. While I don’t like labels, “progressive” fits.

But I don’t feel we have the thoughtful and effective councillor we deserve in Ward 7.

We can change that on October 20th by voting for Myke Atkinson.

Ethics and values are crucial, and Myke embodies these. He’s not only values-driven, but he’s also an effective leader who can collaborate and advocate for smart decisions. Myke is deeply connected to our community with a vision and energy that are rare to find.

Frankly, if I were running again, I would step aside for Myke because I believe he would be a better councillor than I could ever be. I feel that strongly.

We need to build momentum behind Myke so that we don’t split the vote. You can get involved by visiting mykeatkinson.ca to:

I’m grateful for my experience in 2021, and I’m more certain than ever we need a candidate who is kind, intelligent, and energetic. Myke is that candidate and he has my full confidence.

Yours truly,

Erin Waite
