st. andrews heights
We’ve been knocking on doors and collecting survey feedback for over six months in St. Andrews Heights and across Ward 7, and we learned a lot about residents’ priorities.
What we heard
The community’s location near Foothills Hospital as both a benefit and a challenge. It provides convenience for those who work or seek care there, but parking pressures remain a constant issue.
“We enjoy being close to Foothills Hospital but parking is tough.”

Transit access is another recurring theme. Residents want stronger connections to the rest of the city.
“Transit connections could be much better.””

“We don’t have too much traffic because there are only a couple ways into the community, but speeding through our streets is a big concern.”
— St. Andrews Heights Resident
While the neighbourhood’s limited access points help reduce through-traffic, concerns about speeding on residential streets are common. Families want stronger traffic calming and safer conditions for walking and cycling.
“Traffic calming like speed bumps would give families more peace of mind.”

Preserving St. Andrews Heights’ quiet, residential character is deeply valued. Residents said it’s one of the qualities that make the community special.

Other priorities include mitigating the impacts of construction from nearby institutions, maintaining local green spaces, and expanding community programming to strengthen neighbourhood life.
