rosedale

We’ve been knocking on doors and collecting survey feedback for over six months in Rosedale and across Ward 7, and we learned a lot about residents’ priorities.

What we heard

Residents consistently highlight the historic character, mature trees, and neighbourhood charm that make Rosedale unique. Protecting that identity is top of mind as redevelopment pressures grow.

“The character of Rosedale is what makes it special.”

— Rosedale Resident

Traffic was another recurring concern. Residents pointed to cut-through drivers and the need for more traffic calming on residential streets.

“Our neighbourhood charm is worth preserving, and I worry that the new developments are out of context.”

— Rosedale Resident

“Traffic shortcuts through our streets are a real problem.”

— Rosedale Resident

Crescent Road remains one of the neighbourhood’s defining assets — with stunning views that are a point of pride for Rosedale and for Calgary as a whole.

Residents also mentioned wanting Crescent road to feel safer and more accessible for pedestrians and cyclists.

“Crescent Road should feel safe for everyone.”

— Rosedale Resident

People also raised noise issues from nearby traffic corridors, frustration with sidewalk and pathway maintenance, and calls for more tree planting and landscaping to maintain Rosedale’s leafy feel.

The Rosedale community spirit is strong. The Rosedale Community Association plays an important role in bringing neighbours together.

“Our community association hosts some great activities and events.”

— Rosedale Resident

Residents want to balance growth with preservation — keeping Rosedale affordable, safe, and neighbourly while protecting the qualities that make it special.
