crescent heights

We’ve been knocking on doors and collecting survey feedback for over six months in Crescent Heights and across Ward 7, and we learned a lot about residents’ priorities.

What we heard

Residents consistently highlight Crescent Heights’ incredible location and natural beauty. The neighbourhood’s views are a source of pride and help define its identity.

“The views from Crescent Road are some of the best in the city.”

— Crescent Heights Resident

Proximity to downtown is another major strength. People appreciate being able to walk or cycle to work, shops, and services — while still enjoying the character of a residential community.

At the same time, traffic is one of the most common concerns. Noise from Centre Street and Memorial Drive affects daily life, and residents are worried about cut-through traffic on residential roads.

“Traffic on Centre St makes it noisy and hard to walk.”

— Crescent Heights Resident

Safety is top of mind for families. Residents are calling for better pedestrian crossings, stronger traffic calming around schools, and safer streets for kids.

“Kids should be able to cross our streets safely without parents worrying.”

— Crescent Heights Resident

Crescent Heights’ green spaces are another point of pride, especially McHugh Bluff. People want to see this area better maintained and upgraded to serve as a community hub.

“McHugh Bluff is amazing and deserves more care.”

— Crescent Heights Resident

Protecting Crescent Heights’ leafy canopy is also critical. Residents feel mature trees must be safeguarded during redevelopment.

“Our trees are priceless and a historic asset, and we need to protect them.”

— Crescent Heights Resident

Finally, there are calls for more consistent upkeep of sidewalks and pathways, along with action on noise from revving vehicles that disrupt the neighbourhood’s peace.
